This one is new to me but did you know that on the 11th November it is Singles’ Day? Singles’ Day concept originated in China but is now taking the globe by storm. According to Forbes
“This year, Singles’ Day sales are forecast to surpass last year’s $17.8 billion, given an unprecedented number of participating brands, significant offline retail offerings and Alibaba’s effort to extend the occasion from a one-day shopping event into a shopping season.”
This is a great time to offer deals for consumers to treat themselves before they start their list of Christmas gifts for everyone else. Think about all those singles out there looking for new outfits to look their best for Christmas parties!
Black Friday
Over the last few years we’ve seen Black Friday making a huge impact on sales for Irish businesses. What started as an American tradition has become one of the biggest retail days of the year here, with Irish consumers in 2016 spending circa €74m.
This year Black Friday will take place on the 24th of November but not limited to just one day in Ireland. Over the last few years we’ve seen retailers carry their special offers right through the weekend. And it’s not just retailers that can benefit from Black Friday, no matter what business you run, consider a special offer to generate a buzz and demand for your business and cash in on this shopping phenomenon.
Cyber Monday
